Amazing deluxe omakase menu!! I ended up coming here with my mom on a whim and it was such a delightful experience. Not only was the omakase perfectly curated, beautifully plated, and delicious, but the staff was so kind and knowledgeable about all the food and sake. I’ve had a few other omakase experiences in the bay and I feel like this one is a great value. $139 per person for 9 courses, multiple of which were 3-6 pieces per course! The cherry on top was the complimentary strawberry layered crepe cake, which was a gift to celebrate my mom visiting from out of town:) I will definitely be celebrating another special occasion here in the future!

After living on Maui, I became incredibly picky about sushi because I was spoiled by some of the freshest fish in the world. I can honestly say that Zentarou Sushi serves tuna that is every bit as good as if not better than what I had in Hawaii. The quality of the fish is absolutely exceptional. Every piece is incredibly fresh, buttery, and melts in your mouth. The otoro nigiri is truly out of this world..rich, delicate, and one of the best bites of sushi I’ve ever had. And don’t leave without ordering the crispy rice with spicy tuna. It’s perfectly crisp, packed with flavor, and completely unforgettable. What makes this place even more special is the people. The servers are some of the sweetest and most attentive I’ve ever met, and Bee, the owner, is the definition of hospitality. From the moment you walk in, you’re treated like family, and it’s clear how much care and love goes into every detail of the experience. Zentarou isn’t just my favorite sushi restaurant..it’s genuinely some of the best sushi I’ve ever had anywhere. Between the incredible quality of the fish, the warm hospitality, and the welcoming atmosphere, this is a place I’ll recommend to everyone. Five stars isn’

Gem of a Japanese restaurant on the cusp of the Irving St neighborhood....a rare combination of fresh, authentic, excellently prepared sushi and hot dishes... The chawanmushi was delicate, creamy and just firm enough to still feel fulfilling. The California roll didn't disappoint... Real snow crab meat featured on another roll Only minus was the rice was a bit too moist tonight. Service was excellent, friendly and fast... You can tell that the owners care. Highly recommended.

2026-06 Came here to celebrate my birthday because the restaurant had a great review and I was not disappointed. I had to try the supreme omakase menu. The restaurant is less than two years old and it’s very clean and tastefully designed. The waiter, who is also a co-owner was very friendly and welcoming. We were treated very well. Will definitely come back again to celebrate a different occasion next time.

I had the pleasure of eating here and chatting with the owner a few days ago. It’s so clear that he and his sister put a lot of attention, love, and quality into this place. I had the omakase and a pot of tea and it was all fresh and delicious. I especially loved the savory egg custard - it surprised me and was sooo good. A very pleasant afternoon experience that I will hopefully redo if I’m in the city again!
